Psychology for parents of sportspersons

Being a parent of a child-athlete can be a challenging task. Picking up and dropping off for training sessions, taking care of diet, keeping track of tournament schedule, helping them manage studies and sport along with providing them emotional support while managing your own work is a part of daily routine. Every day parents are confronted with a new situation in relation to their child’s sport and making an ideal response in each is not easy. In the struggle to provide best for our child sometimes the support may turn into over-involvement, which may interfere with the child’s sports performance as well as emotional development.
