Football is a game of intermittent work. Nutritional planning depends upon age, gender, weight, and nature of sport & phase of training. Football is characterised by variations in intensity. Players generally perform low-intensity activities for more than 70 per cent of the game. Short sprints are interspersed with periods of jogging, walking, moderate-paced running and standing still. This kind of activity has been termed “maximal intermittent exercise”.
