Former Olympian Manoj Pingale feels that if we could identify the talented kids in the rural area and nurtured them, they have a huge potential to become champions in future. The Arjuna awardee coach speaks to Milind Dhamdhere on various topics from his Olympics dream to foreign coaching. Excerpts:
From initial training to the Olympics
I was quite fortunate as I received quality training from my elder brothers Shekhar and Rajendra. Both were good players but they discontinued their career and encouraged me to develop my career. They devoted their time in shaping my career and my parents also backed the decision. So, within a short period, I started winning at the school and local level junior tournaments.
