Flexibility is classified as a health-related dimension of fitness, which means it contributes to overall improved quality of life in athletes as well as the general population. In simple terms, flexibility is the capacity to bend and stretch. A more technical definition refers to the degree to which a joint moves through a normal, pain-free range of motion (ROM).
