Swimming: Role of body type

Considered to be the greatest swimmer of all time and also the greatest Olympian ever, Phelps is at the helm of a ladder every swimmer wishes to climb. This month’s topic revolves less about his achievement ladder and more about his body. As much as any sport requires talent and precision, it also requires the ideal body composition. Although fitness and strength are important parts of making a good swimmer, good technique and an ability to move smoothly through water is what often defines a great swimmer from a good swimmer.
