During his school days, Shayan was fascinated with outdoor sports like cricket and football. He had not heard about snooker and having a career in this sport was never dreamt off. However, when he was in 9th standard in 2000, his life took an unexpected turn and he lost his left hand in an elevator mishap at his home.
