Beyond Barriers Visually Impaired, Dumb & Deaf Plays Table Tennis
In a historic event, visually and hearing-impaired kids participated in a table tennis tournament for the first time. Initiated by Love All Sports Foundation, the tournament turned out to be a memorable experience as the players put their best efforts to win amidst enthusiastic spectators
The table tennis hall at Symbiosis Spa, Prabhat road is a favourite venue for several tournaments. Therefore, the hall is always filled with players’ angry roars, loud cheers and voices of coaches and parents encouraging their wards.
But on September 18, the scenario was slightly different. Though the enthusiasm and passion was no less than any other tournament, the hall was hardly emitting any sound. The reason – the players were not needed vocal support, as they were communicating with each other in one special language – the language of sports.
